Are you trying to install Guild Wars from the CD?
If so, and the CD won't "auto-play", put the CD in the drive - double-click "My Computer" on the desktop, or select My Computer from the Start menu. In the My Computer window, find the icon for your CD drive - it's probably D: and it may have an icon or text for Guild Wars. Double-click that CD icon and the game should then auto-play. If that doesn't work, right click on the icon and select "explore" - double-click "setup.exe" in that window. |

You cant run guild wars from the cd you can only install and play? if you are trying to run the game from the cd then there is no way to get it to work.
But if you need the client just download from here: http://www.guildwars.com/support/downloadclient/ Sorry if i misunderstood :P |

Oo-er. When Windows can't recognise an .exe file, you got problems. Is this just affecting stuff from the CD drive? Otherwise you could just go to guildwars.com and go to the "download client" section; that's all you need to get started. Be prepared for massive downloads, however.
[edit]meh - I types slow, mirite?

To double check that its not a problem with your computer, put in a different game and see if it will autorun. If not try the 'explorer' trick by opening files. If that still doesnt work then you have a problem with you comp. not guild wars. I would suggest trying this first to avoid long download times for the client.
